Hello,

Can anyone identify this pen?

I was for sale on internet and i wondered wich model it could be. I was thinking about a 925 but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

Much much better images needed but if it is a Montblanc it was part of the 144 series. The view of the snow cap second picture and the converter in the third look very much like what I've found on the fakes.

I agree with Jar. The converter looks not to be legit. The pen can be a Classique ( 144) in vermeil (925 Silver with gold plating)

If you can use a magnet to check if the nib is real gold or a fake steel one.

Best regards

Ok Thanks, I read on internet the converters never have the name printed on it, but how are you able to distinguish a fake snow cap from a real?

Here are some more pictures. The nib and the last page of the book. Warranty looks also fake? And contains a spelling error.

(The quality is low because i took a picture from the computer screen + reduced the image size.)

On snow caps. The points should be rounded and not pointed. Also bad pictures should always cause concern.

It's a fake Meisterstück Solitaire Classique type, easily recognised by it's fake converter and it's laser etched steel nib that pretends to be gold, as well as it's pointed Montblanc snowcap logo. The authentic Montblanc converter won't fit inside this pen because the pen is thinner than the authentic version.

www.montblancrefills.com isn't a Montblanc website.

I've seen a lot of these fake vermial Classiques on Ebay lately. They're usually short duration auctions that I assume are to prevent Ebay from catching them in time to shut it down.

Short duration auctions have been used for that purpose in the past. Not that ebay particularly bother to take them down even when they are reported. :(

BTW, the website exists, but it appears to be a dummy,

And I agree, Ebay seem to be fairly ineffective in taking down fake listings nowadays, maybe they're having the same problems as You Tube and other such platforms. I think that they're more likely to respond to complaints from Corporations than they are from individuals.

They either have or at least used to have some specially recruited "trusted members" who can report fake items, in certain well-known brands, in a special way, on a different report form. :ninja:

Anyone looked at how many fake Hemingway pens there are on the 'bay right now, some even saying "Sponsored"? Then look at how many have sold in the past few weeks...
