New Generation Of Wing Sung 3008?

When browsing the bay, I accidentally met a Wing Sung 3008 which does not look like the well-known one. It can be seen here for example (there are multiple offers of this version of 3008): https://www.ebay.com/itm/2018-WING-SUNG-3008-Transparent-Gold-Silver-Clip-Fountain-Pen-Fine-Nib-0-5mm-A/263566832545?hash=item3d5dceb3a1:m:mgQOel7NXJEd2BPJfDRZfVg

There are several clear differences: the cap is straight, the clip is different, the section does not end with a metal ring... Does somebody know anything about this pen? Did Wing Sung update this model or is it some knock-off?

They are not just copying them anymore, they are mixing and matching them!

(Honestly, I am pretty tempted by all the latest Chinese offerings. They really seem to have upped their game.)

Ontopic, I think this is the 3008A; they just decided to offer another version of it.

If you're really tempted, the Wing Sung 618 and 698 were far better than I expected. I swapped the nib my 698 only because I had Pilot wing nibs to put in, otherwise it's decent.

Personally, I can't choose between the Moonman eyedroppers and PenBBS, so many people say that they're of very high quality.

I was curious so I purchased the new version. The pen arrived on Friday so I can do some quick comparison.

The dimensions are almost identical. When capped, the new version is a bit longer. But this is due to the different position of the cap. Uncapped pens have the same length. The new version is lighter: 22 g instead of 26 g of the original one.

Cap is the most visible difference between the two versions. The new one is straight, the clip is different and the band on the lower edge is missing. The finials also differ.

On the other side, the piston mechanism seems to be the same. The only difference I am able to spot here is the transparent material of the piston bar instead of black.

My subjective perception is that the new version feels cheaper. Manufacturing quality of the original 3008 is comparable to TWSBI. This one is not. You can see some moulding remainders for example - the two nipples besides the nib or the line along barrel where the moulding forms met.

The nib seems to be narrower but the line it produces is roughly the same. When delivered, the nib was very dry. I had to enhance the ink flow. Doing this I realized that the nib material is fairly soft and easy to bend.
Lamy nibs do not fit this pen. The feeder is narrower and the Lamy nib is so wobbly that it is not possible to write.

It is worth noting that there is no branding at all. No logo on the nib, no manufacturer name on the cap or barrel, no model name/number. The question is if Wing Sung company has touched this pen at all. It seems that calling it Wing Sung 3008 is just a marketing decision.
My conclusion (based on limited experience): I like the design of this "new 3008" more but when considering all features I prefer the original version.

This is not a Wing Sung, it's a OEM pen. Several factories make different parts.

I have three of these, been using mine almost daily since the beginning of February. They have nice, very wet nibs, pleasantly smooth when the tines are aligned, medium not fine even though the engraving says F.

They write so well I decided to take off the Lamy M nib I installed on one and put back the stock nib.

In the pen with Rouge Hematite though I left the fine nib. While not wobbly, the Lamy nib is not as tight a fit as the stock nib, so I can replace the Lamy F with the 1.5mm stub easily.
