3952 Fountain Pens

writepen

Recommended Posts

Hello Members! Attached are photos of another amazing writing instrument from 3952 Fountain Pens. This one is covered in genuine, abalone sea shell. The thick inner layer of the shell is composed of nacre, which is the source of colorful mother-of-pearl, used in jewelry and writing instruments. The Bock nib is smooth...just as we would expect. Another feature/benefit is the threaded barrel end which gives us the option to post the cap, if desired. There will be images of other 3952 fountain pens to share with you in the near future. I have known the owner of 3952 fountain pens a number of years, and his Company delivers top-quality products with meaningful value. I have no financial connection with the Company.

That's a pretty sharp looking pen.

Hello writepen,

3952 Fountain Pen. Hmmm... Are these pens made in China or Taiwan? May we trouble you for links to the seller and manufacturer?

I must say, I'll bet that pen is quite heavy and unbalanced when posted. How does the cap post? I looks like it screws on to the finial (end of the barrel), but it is hard to tell from the pictures. The clip looks like it is articulated (hinged). Is it? If the clip is articulated, is the cap still air-tight so the nib and feed don't dry out?

Thank You, David

Hello Drone, aka David :) Taiwan. Website under construction. It has a threaded barrel bottom for secure posting, and is not unbalanced when the cap is posted as the overall weight is medium...not heavy, and not super light. Sorry, do not have a reply to your cap/nib/feeder question, but I have not had any performance/function problems. This manufacturer actually makes pens for other premium/luxury pen brands! I can state with confidence that 3952 is a solidly-built writing instrument. I have photo images of other 3952 models/styles to share in the future. The owner welcomes inquiries. His address is bonartek@ms12.hinet.net

OK, thank you for the information. I suggest that when the 3952 Web site is up, the owner make an announcement here in the Market Watch area. Best Regards, David

And thank you for that suggestion, which has been passed along. A USA Dealer has placed an order w/ 3952..which is being shipped out this week, so, I expect that the Online Retailer will indeed make an announcement considering the favorable responses on many FB Groups and beyond.

So, where is the web site for this pen? Not getting anything on Google.

The brand is called 老山羊鋼筆 here in Taiwan. I tried to find an English version of their website, but it seems that currently there is only Traditional Chinese version available. Anyways, you may want to check them out:

Facebook fanpage

Product page of their official website

Thanks for sharing. What will be the price range for those pens?

You can check the product page link above. The cheapest one available is 2200 NTD (approximately 75 USD) and the most expensive one being 8300 NTD (275 USD). Most of their pens are like 200 USD.

I don't know if they have international delivery service though. Perhaps you'll need to contact them directly via E-mail.

By the way, I've heard some problems about the cap's air-tightness on their earlier models- not sure if they fixed it or not?

Yes, clip is articulated and cap is airtight due to inner workings including a brass part. Per the manufacturer/owner.

The abalone shell has a threaded barrel bottom for secure posting...the other 2 models are not designed to post.
