Thank you both.

Cincinnatus, i use a Canon 1 DX and a Canon 300 2,8 L IS, and in this case with a 1,4 extender.

House sparrows, and barn swallows.

~ farmdogfan:

This is the first time that I've seen this thread.

The curled tailfeather in the image above is a delight.

As ever, top-flight (so to speak) bird-in-flight photography.

Thank you for posting these. I'm sorry that it took me more than one year to enjoy them.

Cool pictures. How many failed attempts does it need before such a great picture comes out?

Wonderful pictures, farmdogfan.

I particularly like the low-flying swallow, such masters of the air.

When we were a children, we would go down the to fields some evenings and stand in the swallows' flight path. They would fly straight at you, then turn sharply at the last minute. It was both thrilling and terrifying (for us).

Thanks for sharing.

Astronymus # the canon 1dx mk 2 combined with a 300 2,8L IS II has a very fast and precise autofocus, so it´s not hard to get flying swallows, the hard part is to get them in interesting situations.

CS388 # yes they do that, i have three pairs living under the roof, so i have acces to them all summer.

Regards Per.
