Post deleted... It would seem I have unwittingly fallen foul of the posting rules, in posting a few pictures of my recent work.

The pictures were posted purely for general interest. No items are, nor were, offered for sale.

My apologies.

Clicked on the topic with some excitement, because a 'tapered faceted' handmade pen sounds cool to me. Here's hoping the pictures can be reposted!

Keo, Thanks for your comments.

I am feeling kinda dumb... :( I read the header to the message, which included 'No replies to this topic' I, mistakenly, believed replies had been blocked for some reason. It appears that the statement is just a summary of the activity relating to the post! I removed the original post because I didn't want to upset anyone.

Here are the pictures...

These are simply stunning!

Love the facets. The Black

is my favorite.

Thanks posting the pictures. This looks like great work.

I am particularly taken by the pen that has 3 cap bands, a lovely look/material.

Hope you don't mind a couple of questions.

Are these "kit" pens you have modified or are they pens you have created completely from "scratch"?

What sort of nibs/feeds do you put in your pens?

How do you make the clips?

Thanks :)

da Vinci,

Thanks for your interest and kind comments... To answer your questions....

Each of the pens is made using bulk materials sourced from around the world.. Europe, USA and Japan.

The parts of the pens purchased are the nib unit, the converter and the clip. Some clips are cast in the USA by a specialist. Everything else is made at home in workshop. Nib units on these pens are German, made by Bock. There is the option to use an alternative, made by Jowo. Or perhaps, to use other nibs and feeds from vintage pens that are no longer working.

The banding is turned from stock brass on these pens ... turned to suit the pen being made at the time.

I have never made Kit pens... I jumped in at the deep end, initially purchasing a small Jet lathe, and went directly to bespoke crafting. I personally prefer the challenges and the freedom to create something a little different. I hasten to add though, there are some remarkable kit pens available.

Hope this helps,

Regards, Jeff.

So beautiful! Just incredible work. I can't pick a favorite. Each one is unique and finely crafted. The custom rounded banding really adds a special touch. I love faceted pens and plan to make some soon. Your work is my inspiration! :D

My pleasure... The pen just completed is a little different from the norm. A few tweaks are needed to make it complete. I like to be adventurous!

I was looking to see what rules you had run afoul of and I'm glad to see that the answer is none. The pens are stunning. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

First I wanted to say that your pens are stunning with the three on the right really catching my eye. If that wasn't enough, your hedgehog rest is amazingly fun.

Beautiful work!!!! What material did you use in making the pen on the left in the top photo? I think it is also the solo pen in the 4th photo down. You have made some really stunning pens.

Thanks for the kind comments. I have it mind to create a web page... Just have not got around to it as yet! I have added a link to my Instagram page. There are more photographs of my work and different ventures, posted there.

Thanks to you for your reply. I am pleased you like the pens. That material is one of the Conway Stewart materials 'Heather'. The Conway Stewart materials are really spectacular. It will be a sad day when the supplies of liquidated stocks become unavailable.

I have managed to purchase a modest supply... certainly, enough to keep me busy for a while... :)

One of my very favourite pens is my OMAS faceted (it's the orange pen you got when you joined their Club). I just love the feel of facted pens. These look like they'd be a pleasure to hold in your hand and to write with.

Congratulations, beautiful work!

Thank you! The Orange pen pictured is waiting for a suitable roll stop to be fitted, so not technically a 'finished' pen... close though! I have been developing a process to create faceted pens, tapered faceting, specifically. Straight faceting is also an option. I look forward to making more pens with different numbers of facets, shapes and sizes. :)
