Semi-flex nib.... :notworthy1:  nice pen.

I have only a black, grey and pearl '50's 540 and an (Osmia)/Boehler 'Gold' tortoise from 1938 when the Boehler brothers spit the firm using the same model numbers, a 54.

The cap is a bit longer on the Boehler 54...than the later Osmia 540....but I'd expect an Osmia 54 to be exactly the same as the Boehler 54.

My other Osmia/Osmia-Faber-Castell's are all black and gold, but I did luck out and have some 4 in BCHR, which I never expected to own....then they popped up all over the place....I have two BCHR Boehler's too.

I so regret belonging to the Pen of the Week in the Mail Club....pen of the month too.

Osmia had always been just over budget.....I could have had them earlier and the more fancy ones too.

A life time of TV brainwashing....buy now...instant greed ....is hard to break....when it should be think, ponder, save and buy better.

Nice looking pen you have there.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Great pen, thanks for sharing.

I have owned its smallest sibling, a 222, and currently own a black 222 with a wonderful nib.

The clip of your pen, which looks like that of a Supra, is not the one I have seen most often in 22x pens. Is it the original?

I'm a user, baby.

I think is not original.
Original clip is like this one.

For me it is irrelevant.

Yes, that's the kind of clip I have seen in 22x models. I agree with you, how it writes is the main point. Well, and, in your model, the celluloid is beautiful. Thanks and congratulations on that beauty.

Hello Konis

Very nice pen and hard to find Osmia with #6 nib. It actually can be that the clip is ok. Osmia used these ball clips long before Parker had this joint venture 1928 - 1930.

I had been collecting historic fountainpens and pen history for a long time but I must confess that I never had a good overview across the Osmia numbering system. They used the same numbers for more than one type in different times. Your Osmia 226 is a rather old version, where the Osmia diamond has not yet got a circle around in its imprint. The imprint is horizontaly. I have some newer Osmias 222 and 224 version where the diamond carries its circle around and the imprint is inclined. (Alas no 226) The cap top is a flat cone like a traditional chinese hat.

I hope some day somebody will find out the puzzled numbering system before the Parker- Osmia era, the Parker names from 1928 like Supra or Brilliant and the numbering system combined with names like Kompressor or Progress afterwards in the Faber Osmia times.

Kind Regards

Thomas

Thomas is right, there are many different Osmia clips.

I do not know exactly what it means the Osmia numbering system either...

I just follow some patterns. Model numbering in general were related to "price", to "nib size", to "pen size" and so on...

The three 226 I have, have the same clip as the one I showed and the same # 6 nib...

Hopefully more information coming through these threads will get us to know some time more about meanings...

There are also two or so generic looking clips with no markings...one just generic, the other Osmia 'Arrow' looking but not marked.....I have at least three slightly different cap jewels.....outside the classic Osmia diamond. And I really don't have anything older than Osmia/Boehler 1938...There are two fancy clips and the Boehler cap...with the Blue B.

So Osmia had fancier than shown clips too.

And my 'collection' is rather small just some 8-9 pens.

Thomas,

The Osmia/Boelher's I have.

A 'regular' Osmia clip....there are those that look similar but with out the Osmia. There are those with the Osmia diamond on the flat 'jewel' or a jewel that looks similar to the BCHR Boelher or the Tortoise 54.

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o707/boboolson1/faber_osmia_62_f_marbled_7_zpsoa9mzivx.jpg

The next pen is a Boehler 'Gold' 54....when the brothers split in '38 Boehler kept many of the model and model numbers as Osmia had before....54 was 54.

Notice the clip and the cap jewel. I've seen that on others I have that I never photographed or used photos of pens I bought....being to lazy to photograph. I figgure when I buy the pen, I get the use of the picture also. I do ask and do give credit to those whose pictures I use with out having bought the pen from them.....about twice....

The '30's Supra Deluxe is a grail pen of mine. Last seen some 6 or so year ago for 350 Euro....that I didn't have. This is a 'wild' picture. sigh.

The first clip Osmia/Böhler is a real beauty, and I only have compliments for the other ones.

Thanks for sharing...
