Pigment Blue - Platinum

Platinum doesn't offer huge variety of inks. Of course, there's their Mix Free ink set that allows you, in theory, to create almost infinite number of colors. Not everyone likes mixing though. I don't. Apart from their Mix Free inks Platinum's developed Pigment inks. Western companies should learn from them - the ink is usable, if doesn't have flow issues ansd it doesn't cause feathering. It tends to stain the plastic and may be difficult to fully clear from the feed. These satins however doesn't cause clogging. If you leave the pen filled with pigment ink uncapped it tends to cause skipping.

The color is extremelly boring but doesn't fade with time. Pigment Ink is permanent and fully waterproof.

I'm confused. Does that mean this one does clog and stain or it does not?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Hmmm.

This one is a maybe. It reminds me a bit of Noodler's Myles Standish LE, only without the pink undertones. It's a slightly nicer color than Quink Blue, and has more shading. I like the color of the UR Lapis in your comparison shot, but I'm betting this is a LOT easier to get hold of.... And I like the waterproofness: it's seems to be a much nicer color than Noodler's Upper Ganges Blue (which is rather chalky looking).

Thanks for the review. And not....

In my experience it tends only to stain but, as most Pigment inks, it doesn't like fresh air. If you leave the pen uncapped for, say, 20 minutes there may be some skipping (depending o the pen and I guess feed construction).

Ah, I got it. I never like how they look sort of under saturated and some look chalky.

I bought a bottle to go with my Pilot Custom 742 Sutab.

It's a nice ink, like Aunt Mabel is nice. Polite, well behaved in a pen with well-sealing cap, doesn't spread, doesn't feather, doesn't bleed, doesn't sheen, can shade a bit in a wettish pen, but boring, like Aunt Mabel's stories of her tatting group are boring.

Thanks, dear visvamitra, wonderful your soaking test! I personally find that the Platinum Pigment Inks are a bit confusing as they are very dry on the one hand and the hue seems to be very "flexible".
