A Guide To Nib Point Widths

We keep getting asked, so here it is - the definitive guide to the width of a Bock nib. Size 5 nibs were used to write this because I was using my current "Pen of the moment". In fact my wife was using MY current pen of the moment, I was just changing the nibs for her, but size 6 nibs conform to the same point widths as size 5.

Thank you, Phil, for the writing sample.

I have used both #6 EF and F nibs and I have only good things to say about Bock nibs and Beaufort Ink. The EF nib in particular I find it's quite juicy and buttery smooth.

It is not my intention to compare nibs here, but if I can share my limited experience, I have compared Bock Vs Jowo EF nibs in my pens and I have found Bock EF is smoother and can write smooth even on inexpensive paper, whereas the Jowo EF gives more feedback and needs a better quality paper so not to appear scratchy. Again this has been my personal experience and I acknowledge that there are people who prefer this extra feedback from their nibs...
