A Small Collection Of Waterman Le Man 100

It seems that in some years I was able to put together a small collection of Le Man 100.

all of them have fine or extra fine nib. In my opinion the Le Man 100 is the best modern pen.

Do yours have nibs with flexibility? I have 2 of them and the nibs are pretty springy, can get also quite some line variation, especially with the stubby B nib nib.

The nibs are springy, but not really flexible, as said, they are F with the exceprion of the briar wood one pen which has an EF nib.

what cartridges do you use for them?

I use Waterman or Pelikan cartridges, and sometime the converter with Aurora black.

Congratulations, Alfredo ! Nice collection of Man100, esp the Etoile is great.

Here are my Man100 that I could collect in the last years. Unfortunately, I could not get an Etoile and not a special edition WM 1998.

Kind regards,

Volker

Hi Volker,

the black with the sterling cap is a beauty, I should make some experiments changing parts of the pens which I have.

Ciao

My first waterman is a black smooth Waterman Man 100 with Ideal Fine nib. It is a very memorable experience first time writing with it. Unlike other pens that I have, it is smooth but offers just the right feedback and sound. I enjoyed it a lot. Now I'm late into the game, by over 30 years, I am pondering how to get other version in mint or near mint version.

Now I'm late into the game, by over 30 years, I am pondering how to get other version in mint or near mint version.

I'm late too, buying my first of now five Le Man 100 a couple of months ago. I have calculated the options availbable for finding new pens and they are:

1. Spend money.

2. Spend less money more slowly.

3. Spend more money faster.

Pens can be found with patience and research (not to mention money ;)). I was writing with an Opera (post-1990 nib) today, and it was delicious.

Stay up late and rise early to monitor a well known auction site.

To make it easy for prospective buyers look out for those titled,

1. Waterman pen

2. Waterman Ideal

3. Waterman 200 (when it's a Man 100 so ask about feed fins)

4. Waterman 100 (beware it could be a 200 again ask about feed fins)

5. Waterman Laureat (when it's a 100 or even a 200)

6. Waterman Man 100

7. Waterman Le Man 100

8. Pen (yes I have seen such a title) In most cases accompanied by a very blurred picture which could be a Man 100 with a BIN of £5.

There are many many more so in short you need to be very observant.
