New Montblanc Box And Papers

Hi everyone,

 

I recently bought a new montblanc classique rollerball pen but the papers that came with the box were different from the traditional ones that you get. The box looks exactly the same but on the bottom it says "Made in China." I don't have any photos at the moment but I will upload some after work today. I'm almost certain the pen is not a fake as I have taken it apart and compared it to another classique of mine. Has montblanc redesigned their box and papers?

Not that I know of. Please post detailed pictures of the box, and also of the pen. Folks here could then examine the photos and give you their considered opinion.

I don't want to believe that Montblanc let things, parts or packages leaflets or anything else made in China — on the other hand Faber-Castell let some complete pens made in China …

And with the new management at Montblanc everything might be possible. Of course it's cheaper to get leaflets and packages from China, but does it match with the image of Montblanc?

People sell fake boxes and papers, and sometimes people buy these to make a real pen more sellable. It could easily be a fake box and a real pen. As noted, pictures would be helpful.

I guess it has nothing to do with Montblanc .. Mostly your seller did not have the original MB box/papers of the classique MB pen, subsequently, I would presume, he used another box to pack your order, It happened to me several times .. If I am in your shoe, I would not bother as long as the pen is genuine. Possibly also some sellers buy lots of MB empty boxes and fit their MB pens into it without paying attention to details, for them, it is just a MB pen in a MB box ! and frankly to be honest, I would not care for the box unless it is a Limited edition Pen, hence Box and Papers do matter.

Why would the fakes go to all this trouble to make a fake leaflet that Montblanc never made. I assume the new service guide is used in certain markets since this was stamped in 2014. I will pay the service center a visit.

It looks legitimate. If the box was a replica, they wouldn't want to advertise "made in China", they'd want to lie about it and print instead "Made in Germany". But MB chose to be honest about it and say that the leaflet & box are made in China.

 

You can even see that they were careful to say that the box is made in China, so that you wouldn't think the whole package is.

The inside of the clip. "Made in Germany" "Metal". Not sure metal isn't a bit of a fake giveaway. Is that present on your real one?
