Ha!

Thank you.

I was just going to kindly ask if you could pop it alongside my fave Diamine ink - you read my mind. :)

Looking forward to release date. This looks like it will fill the gap nicely between KWZ Pea Green and Salamander.

Well now, that's much better, looks more like the real thing. I thought at first everything was black and thus the late reply. Okay, with a hint of salamander. But a good green. Very subtle, I must say (the green, but your review as well). Thanks for the good review! Now it's time for yet another order. The first one's on the house!

Now that's my kind of green!

Thank you for the review. I like this darker, not so bright green; it looks similar to DeAtramentis Jane Austen on my monitor so although I want, I might not need. Do you happen to have any Miss Austen to compare it to?

I'm sorry but I don't have the Miss Austen at all. Maybe someone else can put up a scan of it.

I don't see an "olive" tint on it...

Thank you Captain. I was a bit unclear though - I have DA Jane Austen and was hoping for a side by side to move my want over into a need (as if I need to add to my already lifetime supply of ink :P )

Hmm, your scan of Jane Austen seems (to my monitor again) to be a fair bit brighter than what I get from my pens and paper. But looking again at the Captain's samples above, the Diamine does look like it has more olive than my DA Jane Austen, maybe closer to Herbin Vert Empire? I don't know, I have a bit of a hard time comparing colours. Might be worth a sample at some point though.

Wowsa, what a difference the "auto" color calibration makes. I really liked the soaks because it helped me to see the differences in the dyes. Thank you for the review.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

  • 1 month later...

Despite all the positivity towards the new scans, I actually preferred the ink in the first scans (even though it wasn't really the ink).

It seems before it had some character and uniqueness to it but now it's kinda just a generic boring green :/

It reminds me of Stipula Calamo Musk

I just did a comparison on the other Classic Green thread and can say it's nothing like Verde Muschiato, which looks straight brown by comparison.

It's like halfway between Sailor Tokiwa Matsu and Diamine Evergreen. I'd love to see it compared with Diamine Emerald. I'd think emerald would be a blue-green, but Diamine's version is yellow-green.

adding bright sun version:

the little swatch is Stipula Sepia, added since the Muschiato looks so brown.

Rad - thank you, that is a great comparison. We'd love to see that in the Green Swatch list too. https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/279433-inky-t-o-d-color-swatches-green-please-post-your-pictures-and-tell-us-your-thoughts/

Chrissy, the board software did not index the reviews automatically and Saskia-Madding was doing them by hand. When she became super busy with life, the index fell behind. Lapis has been trying to catch up all the reviews. If he has missed any of your reviews, please send him a PM. I know I appreciate the effort it takes to do a review and we would all like a fast way to find (your) reviews.
