Two New Andromedas

Recommended Posts

I can't stop making this form factor! I'll admit to settling into my comfort zone, but I personally like this style and I want to experiment with various materials to see what can be done with it.

So, here are two more recent pens done in the Andromeda style. The first has been done in Alternate Cumberland with solid black AA end pieces and section. The nib is a Jowo #6 Ruthenium with a converter.

The second is a Matrix in Black resin accented with black end pieces, section and cap. The nib is also Jowo Ruthenium. In fact, you will notice that the section and nib are the same on both pens. I originally made the section on this pen in red AA but it wasn't quite the right shade, so I borrowed the black section from the Cumberland pen for the photos. I'll either use a black section on this one or pick a better accent color.

I'd love to hear your feedback.

Cheers,

Eric

They are very nice! I would love to see the first one with a black nib - and maybe a more reddish section.

Thank you! That might be an interesting option... let the black pen have the black section and make a section out of the Alternate Cumberland for the other pen.

I might just do that!

I admire your sense of aesthetics. There are way too many crazy swirl and unicorn barf acrylic pens out there. You have a knack for putting together shapes and colors. Awesome pens. Are you taking orders?

@Akustyk - I totally agree :) One can try to make a simple, straight-forward pen, but when he doesn't have an eye for this type of clean, sophisticated simplicity, the result will be far from stunning. I love the Alternate Cumberland Andromeda. Matrix is very nice as well, but a bit too tutti-frutti ;) for me. A matter of taste.
