Here it is lined up with a 144 and a 149 instead of my B-1. Size wise right between the two. But weight wise it has some heft to it.

144 is 0.6 oz

149 is 1.1 oz

BH is 2.2 oz

It is very well balance in my hand especially when I have it posted but boy it sure feels heavier in my shirt pocket.

I just saw that pen yesterday in the store - the blue is really beautiful. Subtly smoky blue.

Could you please do me a favor? Can you closely examine the two frosted rings on the cap band for what look like slightly darker smudges? There may be one on each ring, and you may need to catch the light at an angle. My pen has them and according to Montblanc they are not considered a defect. Needless to say I'm quite disappointed.

Congratulations on the Blue Hour FP. I bought one last year. I love the blue cap and body, the weight of the pen, and the nice, wet nib. I am using the Blue Hour ink with it and enjoying the combination.

With my eye even wearing my glasses I don't see any smudges. When I examine it with a 15x loop I do see two on the slightly larger upper ring. Looks like the florentineing has been rubbed. One is a sweeping vertical line and the other is more horizontal. The lower smaller ring dosen't appear to have any marks at all. I don't think anyone would notice them under any light with the naked eye.

Hope this helps.

Great pen :)

The Classique size is on my buy list.

If you aren't stuck on the classique size blue hour I will make someone a stealler deal on a Solitaire Doue Signum that is three weeks old and like new. Similar to the BH but with the Black Snowflake barrel and same cap.

I bought it just before Christmas while on a trip and did not realize that it was the Classique size.

I have larger hands with very long fingers and my handwriting suffers when I use this pen as it is just too small for me. I have tried for weeks to adjust to it because it is so darn pretty and I love the smoothness of the 18k 750 Gold nib.

I have two (2) other Mounblanc FP’s that are vintage 1980’s and 1990’s with 14k 585 nibs. I though they were marvelous until I got this brand new pen in December. My days of buying vintage pens are OVER. Sorry collectors, but newer “is” better! The new nibs write soooo much smoother!

This pen is as new. No scratches at all. Sat on my desk for three weeks as I admired it. The snowflake pattern on the barrel is simply stunning. The platinum cap looks no-doubt like a Montblanc but classier than the plain black precious resin. Only inked one time. I have cleaned it out and it is indistinguishable from Brand New. Comes complete with Box, Case, and papers. Pictures were taken today 1/29/16.

I’ll ship Priory Mail with insurance and tracking

Thanks for checking, I'm happy to hear that yours is blemish free! My dealer brought in two more pens to replace mine and both had the same or worse. Mine are clearly visible to the naked eye, sadly.

  • 1 year later...

Sorry to be reviving this but I wanted to ask if posting this pen created any significant damage on the pen barrel over time. I have a Doue in malachite and posting the pen over time has left significant damage on the barrel and feeling the threads in the cap they are quite sharp. I was wondering if the 146 Blue Hour might suffer the same fate, especially since I'm a serial poster.

I've had the Legrand Blue Hour since its release, and I'm a serial poster as well. I'm happy to report that all my posting hasnt scratched the barrel.

I have also had the LeGrand version since December 2016. I have no scratches from posting the pen either 😎✒️
