John Loud's Ballpoint Pen Of 1888

I think most people would think of the ballpoint pen as starting with Lazlo Biro or maybe Marcel Bich, when the first one were on the market in 1888 made by John Loud

They were not for handwriting but were a marker pen, although they had the same principle of a ballpoint tip.

 

Note that ballpoint pens were originally considered a type of fountain pen.
