Sheaffer Legacy Ii Jim Gaston Limited Edition

I had a wonderful Targa 1005 that my father passed down to me, so when I saw a big, full-bodied Sheaffer Legacy II, with a BROAD stub nib, I had to jump on it. I am very pleased that I did! The nib is a wonder, and although I'm not 100% sold on the "touchdown" filler, I love the look, the feel, the bold line it produces.

This is one beautiful nib!

And a quick writing sample [with scented de Atramentis Myrrh ink]. I'm thinking of filling it with J. Herbin Rouge Hématite and doing my greeting cards with it!

Jim Gaston commissioned several Limited Editions including the four shown above and also some from Bexley. Jim was active in the world of fountain pens and also an avid photographer and outdoorsman. He developed one of the first major Arkansas resorts on the White River. He died in July of this year.

The four pens in the Jim Gaston Legacy series were the lined Gold, the matte Black and the sandblasted copper issued in 300 pieces each and 100 pieces of the cobalt Blue.
