Aa Waterman Nib, "not Connected With The Le Waterman Co"

Most of us know the story of LE Waterman and AA Waterman.

I pulled the nib on an early slip cap clipless twist fill AA Waterman and found this imprint. The pen belongs to sidthecat on FPN, but I am spiffing it up for her.

Does anyone know about what years AA Waterman had to put this disclaimer on his pens? I have a later one without this added imprint.

(the barrel imprint is faded, but you can somewhat make out LE Waterman in the midst of other words under below the lines of the main imprint)

It looks rather Babylonian, doesn't it?

I see the crack, too. It'll need a light hand after you even out the tines. Looks like beavers have been at it!

That ruling contains some interesting history I either hadn't read or hadn't stuck with me. AA Waterman was no longer part of the company, and so that was part of the reason for the ruling.

Thank you for the information.

Richard Binder summarizes it well. http://www.richardspens.com/?page=ref/glossary/W.htm

scroll down to the Waterman AA section.
