Black Ebonite With A Satin Finish And 18K Nib

Hi folks,

Here's one that I just finished a couple days ago, the second that I have made like this, and for the same customer :-))

The material is German black ebonite, which I have given a matte/satin finish. I polished the inside of the cap and the threaded section on the barrel just for a bit of cool contrast.

That is about as streamlined and functional as a pen can get. Sort of the design maxim KISS personified! Beautifully done.

What are the dimensions?

Thanks! The capped length is about 127mm, uncapped maybe 138mm, and the diameter about 15.25mm. Grip max diameter is about 11.5mm.

Cheers,

Ken

Beautiful... How have you achieved satin finish

Thanks very much! The finish was done by sanding/polishing from 320 up to 12,000 on the glossy parts. On the satin areas, I stopped at 1500, then took it down to 600, carefully to ensure even finish and no longitudinal or diagonal lines.
