Mmm...That sheen!

So much eye candy in this thread...my wallet can't take it.

Lock that wallet down somewhere, before it's too late! ;)

Oooh Bunbox 4B and sheen....If I had pearls I'd clutch them... :D

The celluloid was already really cool, and now you got an other one! WOW! Congrats!

Your birds still amaze me

Thanks Attila, I love my older oblique nibs. I tried a modern oblique from Pelikan but it was just a blobby tipping cut in oblique angle so there was no line variation, which made me sad. I realised then that what I like are the oblique flat nibs. In the past the broader nibs were mostly flat and wide but now it seems they are round and blobby. :(

I've heard that the modern ones were not that good when it came to line variation...sad...but now they are also discontinued....that's even sadder....

Same paper, same pen, same nib, same ink, but mine doesn't look like that.

You are blessed with some magical power! :notworthy1:

I don't know what can be the problem....

Maybe I'm really a wizard!

Try it again when the ink level is lower!

Oh perfaddict, that pen was on my grail list for a looong time and seeing it again only makes me yearn for it once more. More photos and stories of how wonderful it is please . . . :)

I really must start reviewing pens. This is one of my favourite FCs. Perfect balance, IMO, aided by the ingenius clip design which evokes a posted pen when in use. The "eclipsed" nib is absolutely smooth, even for a house stainless steel. If i had to pare down my collection, this would be one of the survivors :)

Ahhh . . . you say the nicest things.

Back on the list it goes.

1. A Conid of some sort.

2. A Pilot 823.

3. An Eclipse.

Trying to mix up a particular brown ink. Not quite there yet, but close.

And of course my dip nib for the day. The fine lines on this are so extreme that I actually had to put a hair down next to one, and the hair was thicker. Like, by a lot. And I don't have thick hair. If you look closely you can see that the thin lines are less than half the width of one of the dots on the Rhodia pad. But that also makes this more difficult to control well. It doesn't help to have it all blown up for ease of criticism. But it is a fun, old nib. (Hunt "Companion" No 21 Round Pointed)

My latest creation Montblanc 149 with a wicked vintage E'S Johnson #7

This is amazing and goes to prove the point, there is no one perfect pen.

Inked#Fingers, you're in a league I can only dream of (as of now,) and you're still mixing and matching.

Very cool! I admire your sense of adventure, besides the pen material you're swapping out.

That pen and your handwriting are both absolutely gorgeous!!! That phrase gave me a good chuckle too! What is the name of the finish on that pen?

Best regards,

Justin

Thanks gylyf, that’s the nicest thing anyone could say.

I really like your architect’s point Sailor Pro Gear and naginata-togi Sailor Realo. I love that thin vertical and wider horizontal lines they produce. I just like the look of text written that way, and that’s why I love my oblique nibs too, as they do the same thing for me. Mayhap it’s time for me to look into the architect’s grind. ;)

What type of paper is in that notebook you are using? It is showing off the lines and ink very nicely.

SNAK,

On top is a Midori lightweight paper insert for the traveler's notebook, on the bottom a notebook from paperforfountainpens.com, both of which contain Tomoe River. And I would heartily recommend an architect grind! :)

Trying my old French cursive, which I haven't really used since primary school. Very rusty.

Looks good! I have a couple of samples of Tomo-e paper. I need to get some more. It's gorgeous stuff.
