Here's my Namiki Goldfish Emperor.

That's one of my favorite Emperors. I got to see several of them at the DC show.

I don't own the Emperor, but I do have one of those tame-nuri tilting ink bottle stands.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

If I could have any pen out there, I think it'd be that Namiki Emperor Goldfish. What a pen! Thanks for sharing.

I wish they would make a clipless vermilion urushi pen in the flat-top shape.

Thanks! I was originally saving up for the Carp on Waterfall pen, but when the Goldfish pen came out I realised that I liked it better. Maki-e pens are so expensive that any buyer's remorse will be costly.

Thanks! I wonder if Eboya would take a custom order for such a shape, and then one could get it lacquered after that. I have a regular vermilion Emperor in daily use, but I agree that the vest type (flat-top shape) represents an ideal canvas for a plain vermilion urushi finish.

That would be awesome if Eboya would do that. I've looked for a vermilion Emperor for a while, though I personally flat-top and clipless pens. The Emperors I found were around $2,000. I'd actually be willing to pay that for flat-top vermillion but at that price, Danitrio seemed a better value, I ended up with a Danitrio Mikado Flat-top, but that #50 nib is really enticing!

That's a great looking pen. Thank you for sharing. I see it just came out this month. You must be happy to have one of the first ones out of the 170. Even the box is great too!

I decided to go green with my pens because I care about the environment and stuff. This is what people mean right?...

The new toy is to the left. It is Ernest Shin's work on an Edison Pearl. To the right is a Danitrio Takumi.

Absolutely beautiful. My first fountain pen was a cheaper version of this with the crane and pine pattern. After all this time and after numerous pens that went by me, it is still one of my best writing, favourite pens.

Thank you. I think they are rather pleasant to look at and hold.

The paper is some type of custom notebooks my firm ordered to give out at conferences a few years ago. They are made by a company called Journal Books but are otherwise unmarked. I think the paper is pretty FP friendly, though not at nice as Rhodia or Black and Red books. They met two important criteria: free and available in the office. :D I actually rescued them from being tossed out since we changed our logo.

Gorgeous! You got the black/green/silver Kara-nuri! Mine is the black/clear/gold version, also on the Pearl. Ernest's lacquer work is amazing.
