Sailor Storia Dancer Pink (Pigmented Nano-Particle Ink)

Sailor has recently released a new line of ink, the STORiA inks, which are pigmented nano-particle inks like Sei-boku and Kiwa-guro.

I've review Fire Red and Night Blue.

Nice frosty bottle:

As the other inks in this line, Dancer Pink dries to a pastel unsaturated colour. And for me this colour is horrible.

Splash

It's a pale pink leaning towards magenta. Fire Red is what I'd call a red pink.

Writing sample

The sample is written with a Platinum 3776 Medium. The word "Pink" under "sample" is written with a dip pen. As a pigmented ink, it has good water-resistance.

Comparison

With all my reds.

Final words

Seriously, save the money and buy other inks. Sailor has many great inks, but not this. If you want a pink, there is Bung Box Mother, Bung Box Sweet Love Pink and two pinks in the Onago-iro Days line.

Unless, of course, you really like this hue and the water-resistance is necessary for you.

With your most recent picture, you make the ink very appealing.

I think overall, it's much too light for me, but I LOVE your comparison swabs. (I know, I said it before. I really like them.)

Very useful. Thanks for the review.

I know my id is "mhosea", but you can call me Mike. It's an old Unix thing.

if indeed these inks can be mixed however I think I can reporpuse the red and pink into the mixable reds category... I'm curious if one can make a permanent deep red like rouge hematite

I think it is very unlikely, but I wish you all the luck.

Thanks for the review.

It is a bit on the light side, but I rather like the color (and am wondering if the sheen can be seen on other types of paper besides onionskin).

How hard is it to get this ink in the US? Is this one of the store-specific ones, like Bung Box?

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

It's not store specific. It's sold by Sailor itself.

Thank you for another great review and for testing the storia inks!

If it looked like that on all paper, I'd snap it up in a second. Since I never use onionskin paper, mainly because I can't find one I like, I think I'll regretfully still give this a pass. Such a pretty picture, though!

+1 that sheen is gorgeous!

Great review! Thank you.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I rather like the color, sort of a (much) paler Pinkly. Might have to try it.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.
