Mont Blanc Silver .925 Pen Identification

How do I identify this pen? It doesnt say anything save for MEISTERSTUCK and MONT BLANC on golden cap ring (is the cap ring gold or golden?) and a number I.D. 1027146 on the clip ring on top. .925 is embossed on the cap. Below, it just says GERMAN B on a sticker affixed. Nib is 18 K.

Which model is it and what number (142 or 144 or 146)? The length of the pen with cap on is 136 mm.

Thanks

The 925 marking is just a standard silver marking to note that it's Sterling Silver. Like the photo below of the JP Morgan's stamping, its a standard stamping. The 146 is a larger diameter pen with an ink window because it's a piston filler like jsolares noted in the post above. Hence it's a 144

Thanks jsolares and wael.

Which means the I.D number above is just a serial number? Any significance of this number? Also, is it alright to discuss worth/value of this pen in this forum?

That's probably the serial number of the pen. The gold finish by the way is not solid gold, it's vermeil (spelling) which is a high quality gold plating over sterling silver. Hence be careful when polishing the pen with a silver cloth. In my experience though, MB's plating is excellent.

cheers

The pen pictured is a Mb 144 (Classique) Silver Solitaire FP that was fitted with a B nib when it left the factory. It looks like it still has a B nib on it. They fill either with cartridges or a converter

This pen is made in silver so it is correctly hallmarked with the 925 silver mark on the sliver cap.

They also have a serial number on the clip band in common with other Montblanc pens.

The gold parts of the pen are gold plated not solid gold. One thing to watch out for is the band next to the clip. As it's dipped in ink bottles, when you wish to fill it using the converter, it can corrode badly and it needs a Mb service to replace it if this happens. So I suggest if you use a converter, you pay particular attention to keeping that band clean

They are sought after, they obviously don't fetch as high a pricce as a 146 solid silver, but I've seen them sell on Ebay (here in the uK) for anything between £300 to £350 ... The Broad nib is a bonus for many

Very nice !

Just for clarification, the gold band should read, " Meisterstück ".

I really like the look of this one.
