The Golden Warmth Of Amber

Scriptorium Pens

Recommended Posts

Here's a Large Balladeer made in the golden honey color of Conway Stewart's Amber acrylic. It features a #6 JoWo nib and fills by cartridge, converter, or eyedropper. I love amber materials, and if this were my own pen to keep, I'd probably fill it with Herbin's Ambre de Birmanie, one of my favorite inks. :D

Have to agree. Wonderful color indeed. Seems like I like anything with the word tortoise or amber in the name.

That is a GREAT looking pen! The Amber was my choice when I had the opportunity to order a Conway Stewart in one of their last "bespoke" sales. I had a really hard time making up my mind since I was aware I could only afford one CS. I am still pleased with the decision & even happier to know you liked it enough to purchase some of the same material. Do you have other "CS rods" form which to create? ( And yes Herbin's Ambre de Birmanie DOES look good in it! My first fill was CS Kingsand since I had bought it prior to ordering the pen.) Thank you for giving us a chance to see this pen. ( And your clip looks a lot nicer than my Churchill that I have always felt was NOT perfectly "centered" & while not "askew" just not right. Not enough to have sent it back but not as it should have been.)

Thank you! I missed out on the CS inks, but I do have Diamine Ochre, which is similar to Kingsand, I believe. It would definitely match this pen.

I do have some other CS rods left. I bought a small supply of a variety of colors, and many of them are already claimed. They won't be available forever, so I'm planning on getting some more to hang onto.

Very nice, and I seldom, if ever appreciate amber.
