Desk Pen -- It's Purple, Really!

Scriptorium Pens

Recommended Posts

I've had a customer clamoring for desk pens for a while. I wanted to be sure I had the balance right before finalizing it. This one will be a longer version at around 7.4" long when uncapped. I'll also be making shorter ones for folks who don't want the extra length. The customer and I agreed that the longer length will be able to really show off a pretty blank, and it's approximately the same length as several of my old dip pens. I can't decide what to call this model, but it will definitely end up with something spiffier than the "desk pen" moniker.

It really is a deep, transparent purple, though it looks blue in my pictures!

WOW.

Can you make the section to accept Esterbrook nibs and fit the Esterbrook desk pen bases? An acrylic blank with some black flecks (or veins) would look great as a pen in a black 8-ball desk pen holder.

Thanks! I can certainly make a section to fit an Estie nib unit. I'd have to have measurements for the base, as I sold my 8-ball desk pen holder a long time ago. Shoot me an email at renee@scriptoriumpens.com :D

*slowly paws it and takes...*

'The Yo-Yo maneuver is very difficult to explain. It was first perfected by the well-known Chinese fighter pilot Yo-Yo Noritake. He also found it difficult to explain, being quite devoid of English.

So we left it at that. He showed us the maneuver after a sort. B*****d stole my kill.'

Oh, man! That third picture of the cap made me immediately think of pictures of looking out at a Pacific island lagoon through foliage and seeing the moon glinting off the calm waters.

Absolutely beautiful.

That is beautiful. Can I ask about prices?

Thanks! You know, I'm not really sure if I'm allowed to quote prices in this sub forum, so I'll send you a pm. This pen will be priced the same as all my other pens. :)

Make that fatter? I'm thinking Churchill diameter in the section with a big stub nib on it, say Visconti size. Drooling, but anything under 14 on the section is hand cramp city for some of us.

Absolutely! I need fat sections, myself. These are the sizes I offer. I can customize the section to be the shape you want, as well.

  • Small —13mm/.51″ at the barrel threads
  • Medium — 14mm/.55″ at the barrel threads
  • Large — 15mm/.59″ at the barrel threads
  • Oversize — 15.7mm/.62″ at the barrel threads

You ought to see the Sapphire Water or Topaz Water, then -- both gorgeous blues in this same acrylic style.

A 15.7 version of that in a color like the eggplant on the exotic blanks page....

Hmmm. Must get some of the move paid off so I have funds to play.
