Parker 25 Spare Parts?

Hi all,

I was just wondering if there is anywhere in the UK that has any spares for my fountain pen?

I can find the clip at Penhome.co.uk but i am having no luck with the plastic part that is in the cap.

Anyone know if the plastic inside the cap is available at all anywhere?

Hi,

A few days ago, FPN member Darryl.k announced his new Parker 25 website with loads of information on the P25:

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/264367-parker-25-website/

http://www.moreengineering.co.uk/parker-pen/4582690612

I guess that he is the right person to guide you to the spare part that you are looking for?

What cap? And what colour? FP, rollerball and biro differ.

Blue and black are usually available on the bay, green is rare and orange is near impossible to find.

Also have a look at the parker 25 variations thread in the parker subforum!

The part I am after is below:

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i122/G40DP/5F19B0B5-B8B4-4EDB-88BB-D69991FE8FC8_zpsiwgnnrnu.jpg

The blue part that goes into the cap and fixes the clip. The pen is a fountain pen.

Sadly my ebay searches have shown up nothing.

Any idea's what the proper name for the part is and what I should be searching for on ebay?

That part would be called the "inner cap" but I doubt that you can find that easily on ebay.

Sure, it works perfectly but it's just slightly dinged on top so i just want to make it perfect as if like to keep the set it's a part of.

Hi,

The Battersea Pen Home has some parts on offer, and just might have other bits not listed: http://www.penhome.co.uk/nibs/parker-nibs/parker-25-nibs.html

At times they offer [rare/anomalous] B nibs for the P25. The one such I have sports a massive blob of tipping, which gives a mono-line - without line width variation common to wide nibs.

Bye,

S1

Sadly they don't seem to list the inner cap which I'm after.

Hi,

Correct, but they are such nice people who might go above & beyond to source one for you.

Happy hunting!

If you want line variation, you'd better look for a stub nib, Sandy1!

Jdm dc2, if you have to match another P25, you'll have to specify what the top does look like: flat or dimpled. Early versions had flat top, later versions the dimpled ones.

Best search on the bay is for Parker 25 and spare / spares / parts .

Just looked in my little bag of bits and the only spare one I have is also dinged so probably no good to you. Maybe buy a whole pen from ebay and swap the caps round? They come out easily enough if you are careful not to force them too hard, then sell the unwanted pen back on Ebay!

That's an idea.

I just want that new 'snap' that you get with a new one though.

Hi,

I have Stubs aplenty! :)

I've found that 'true' mono-line nibs are quite rare in the ~0.9mm range - they tend to be 'stub-ish', though they're not graded as such - so its a bonus when I come across one.

For example, I recently purchased a pen that was described as having a B nib, only to find it wrote as a 1.1mm Stub, but it was on a Parker England 51, so I kept it. I'm still looking for that elusive P51+B - happy accidents are one way a collection grows

Would you believe I have been sat here comparing the "snap" of a brand new unused 25 against one that has been used ... and the new one really does have a sharper "snap" as it comes together!

For a really nice coming together "snap" ... nothing beats the Parker 75 though ... :)

Looks like your need the fountain pen inner cap, I assume ridge top?

Think I can repair it.

Hi Daryl, it is a ridge top.

I'll send you a PM, hopefully you can do something!
