Hello,

I was wondering if you could tell me which Montegrappa model is this. I'm thankful for any kind of help.

Can't help on current prices but I often see them on eBay. Yes it will have an 18K Greek key motif nib.

Well, the price for that exact one is 100 euro (about 140$), so is it a "bargain or is it overpriced, by your opinion? I really like the pen style and the design.

Thanks for the details!!!

Average sold price seems to be about twice that, around 250 as the starting price being won at 1 bid (when you do a search for Montegrappa Espressione on ebay, then click 'completed' listing, sort by price and note where all the green prices are). Seems there was only two that sold close to the 100 point (without box and maybe some issue).

I don't know the pen at all, but I would say if all the prices are north of $200 except one or two, and the only ones south of that were auction based (and not buy-it-now prices), I would be somewhat skeptical as if maybe 'too much' of a bargain to be true. But like I said I don't know the pen, rather I just know how to look for the 'average' on sites like ebay.

I didn't see any ebay listings with the picture you posted (using google image search), is it a pen you already purchased, or on some private site or something?

100 is certainly not overpriced from what I see, just maybe suspiciously low, unless it's just a 'starting bid', in which case it may go higher.

Do you want the Espressione? Have you ever held one? Do you like big pens?

Is there a pen that you would rather have available for 100€? If not then it is a good price.

Well sadly, I haven't had the chance to ever hold a Montegrappa, but I just saw something in them...

In Serbia (where I live) pens really do have lower prices compared to U.S.

I'm going to see to buy it, because I do like that Italian style they have.

I'm very thakful for your help!

I'm probably very bias for saying so, but if it's a common thing in Russia/Serbia/Ukraine/etc (ie: lower than usual market price, and they have to come from the manufacture at the same price as everyone else at some point), then it's either counterfeit or stolen if the price is on average *much* lower than not just US but Europe, Uk, Asia in general.

The price is low but not too low. When they discontinued this version and introduced the newer version of the Espressione lots of places were dumping their stock. The new version was planned to sell at a much lower price than that style and it would have been difficult to sell both at the same time.

So it could be that they're selling the old pen at the price of newer (and less expensive) model.
