Vintage Mont Blanc Identification

Could anyone identify this vintage Mont Blanc pen? It is accompanied by a vintage Lamy but for now I'd be curious to know the type of Mont Blanc. I have asked the seller for more detailed photos but they are not very quick on the uptake...

The pic is not very good, but for shape, size, clip and rings, Montblanc 234 1/2 I guess.

 

The nib says 4 or 4-1/2?

It could be any one of many different models but one of the 23x series is a likely candidate. There are a couple things though that point to it being a frankenpen. The clip ring should never stick out like that.

 

A 234½ should look like one of the two on the left in this picture or if a war time product perhaps with no cap rings. But there were a whole series of 23x pens with the last digit determined by the overall length and which nib size was used. Smaller pens had smaller nibs; a 236 would have a bigger nib than the 234 and also be slightly longer and wider.

Thanks for all this - I greatly enjoy learning about pens and MB in particular. A Frankenpen Seller is asking 90 euros for both the pens but if it's not a complete original I won't bother I think.

If it is in fair shape it is well worth 90 eur alone.

 

You need better pictures and more info; is the piston working, are there any cracks, which nib does it have, better pictures, and did I mention better pictures.
