Papermate Flair Refillable Version, Compatible Refills?

fpn_1373115035__imag4959.jpgI bought a nice vintage one but the refill has dried up. Are there any modern porous points that will fit or if not any rollerball refills?

I bought a Cross refill this afternoon, excellent solution to get an old Flair up and running!

If anyone else is wondering it is the regular Cross refill not the slim that I bought, so no idea if the slim would work or not.

I was wondering about mine not having the Papermate name anywhere on it and it turns out to be a Flair Executive, from when Flair was a brand in itself, owned by Gillette who owned Papermate at the time. Working out things was helped by the arrival of some vintage Flairs in unopened packaging and seeing they are the Flair Hardhead with no mention of Papermate on the pen.

But, the Papermate versions existed, so did Gillette run both brands together, timelinewise?

These are like a Berol Handwriting pen to use - except they have the style and comfort of a Flair.fpn_1373726221__9271500516_c1249354aa_o.fpn_1373724566__9271500614_be15f9bfc3_o.

  • 3 months later...

I now have three of the refillable Flairs, the third one arrived today and the seller had fitted it with a Cross porous point refill, it's the same size as the rollerballs. It has a tip like the Flair Ultra Fine disposable pens.
