Sheaffer Stylist

This is a Sheaffer Stylist that was a gift from a friend. It writes pretty well and with a good flow, very wet nib. I usually use it with cartridge, because his filling system is a bit annoying (specially, to change the ink). Finally, here are some pictures.

Regards,

Alberto Puebla.

I have the same pen in brushed aluminum, and find it to be an exceptionally smooth and comfortable writer. I've only used it with a cartridge.

The pen was an innovation when new because the nib was reversible and intended to used with either side up. Mine is M and F. Others were M and B.

I inherited mine along with the matching mechanical pencil from my father. Both are scratched and worn - by his use. It's nice to use them and think of him.

Enjoy your pen and your friend.

But you are right, that style converter was not Sheaffer's greatest effort.

I have a chrome Stylist and two plastic ones. One plastic has a cracked section and the other has a cracked barrel, so I put the good pieces together and made a FrankenStylist.

The Stylist will take normal Sheaffer converters.

Nice pens - I had one of these in college. Black with the gold filled cap. It leaked at the nib/section joint, and not knowing better or about Sheaffer's lifetime warranty I tossed it. :wallbash: I now have one like yours, and will hang onto it even though I have fancier pens. Funky converter. A standard squeeze converter will fit, haven't tried a piston converter.

If yours leaks at the joint, unscrew the nib and seal with either thread sealant or a soft wax like bees wax.

I think mine is also M and F. Really smooth and wet nib.

Actually, I don't like it at all, but it is still a great pen.

Mine has arrived yesterday... Announced as "Sheaffer Stylus", don't reach bidders interest... 15 bucks by a set (FP + MP) + box (with a clever hinge that opens pivoting the lead over an arm...) + instructions leaflet... UNINKED...

Look at my horse, my horse is amazing!!!

If your pen has the same nib as shown in the picture, you will want to unscrew the nib and seal the threads. Bees wax or wax from a toilet bowl flange sealing ring will work. If you don't you are likely to end up with inky fingers.

Just received one of these in the post. Had an international cartridge in it which looks as if it fitted OK!

Being a conservative soul, if I need to seal the nib to the section I'm wondering whether silicon grease would do as well as wax/sealant?

It will work, but it makes the point unit more willing to unscrew.
