Correct Way To Use A Scroll Nib

While I can write a decent letter with a 4B nib, I am trying to get writing with a scroll nib down. It seems like I am ever so slightly rotating the pen causing one nib or the other to lift. What is the best way to train myself not to do that? I know about talking to my first grade teacher, but I think a split pen would be a little confusing to her. Dunno, she may be able to spot something.

If it isn't too bright for you, it isn't bright enough for me.

my link shows a Sheaffer SH4 nib which draws a medium line and a fine line. These were sold in set with an XF and B4 nib. I tried a few lines without any difficulty. Are you holding the pen at 10 to 20 degree angle from the horizontal line on the paper or are you trying to hold the pen at a right angle to the horizontal line - if that makes any sense. If you are trying to hold the pen at a right angle this is difficult to maintain and you will likely change the "rotation" of the pen as it moves from top to bottom. Of to put it another way, are you doing anything different with the XB nib compared to the Shadow nib?

No, I hold my writing instruments at a angle. It may be about 30 degrees or so.
