Hello guys,

I am planning to buy a Parker Premier Monochrome Edition - fountain pen. I did quite a research on the pen on the internet but off the way while searching I found that, there is a problem of loose clip with this version. Can anybody let me know if its solved or does it still exists. I read on this blog that it was confirmed to be a design flaw.

Or if there is any other pen better than this at same cost. I am quite impressed with the black nib. So is there any pen with black nib. Since this is the first time Im investing in this expensive pen, so Im a little bit scared.

Kindly help.

Thanks

Pranav

I gave my bf the ballpoint. Same clip. No problems. But, I wouldn't abuse it.

Pranav,

I have three Parker Premier fountain pens. I have a Monochrome Titanium, Custom Tartan and Black Lacquer and I love them all. I really think the black one is super cool and want to get one myself someday. The clip problem still exist as far as I can tell. I don't ever take the titanium or tartan off my desk or clip them to anything because the clips are so fragile. I did try to use the black lacquer at school but the first time I forgot it was clipped to my pants pocket it broke off. I was getting into my car and it just went flying off and ricocheted off my windshield. I was ridiculous how easily it broke. It is a really bad design and every other pen I have wouldn't have come close to breaking in the same situation.

Parker wants nothing to do about fixing it under warranty. They said I can send it in so they can determine if it was a defect or customer abuse and they will send me an estimate to either replace the clip or the whole cap. I told them I'll just keep it and make sure to warn any other customer of this shortcoming. I'm starting to rant a little so I'll stop. I really love the pen and I don't want to discourage you from getting one but just be prepared for something to happen. You can't treat this like any other pen. Here is a picture of all three pens.

Isaac
