Early 19Th Century Pens

Hello! While not specifically fountain pen related, what sort of pens were most widely used by Europeans use in the mid-19th century? Were feather quills still in wide use or was it more common to have a pen of a different material?

By the mid nineteenth century steel and gold dip pens were widely used.

I'm a complete dip-pen-geek so it's fun to have people to share these with. I have an good-sized collection of late 19th century dip pens... I don't know the exact dates of them except for the Eagle Arrow one that's patented.
