Looking For A List Of Colour Options For The Carene

After trying out the waterman carene, I have decided that I like the pen and will purchase one. Looking for a stub nib?

Before doing so what are/where the finish option for this pen.

How old is the pen range.

Hi, The Carane commenced production around 1997/98 and is still a current model. The colours have changed over the years with I think only the Black Sea and Marine Amber lasting the time. The current range of pens are shown on their web site. Nibs are available in most sizes but Medium appears to be the stocked size. If you buy with medium Waterman will exchange it FOC for any other size. You will have to send the complete pen along with the purchase receipt for this process so you still have a postal cost to cover.

As you are in the UK expect to pay between £140 and £220 for a new pen or alternatively say £70 to £100 for a mint boxed unused S/H off the bay.

Good hunting...

The left pen I purchased for £10. It was in bad shape ref the lacquer so I overhaulled it and added a new colour.

I have tried to list them by their correct Waterman colour as stated in catalogues or their web site. You may find other colours but I believe they are misinterpretation of catalogues...or even just a rough guess.

Wow..............

Thank you for the list.

Love the cream/ivory colour- that was not a standard issue then?

How did you achieve it?

Like its a toss up between the Orange-red and the green colour.

Will have to start looking on feabay- as cant see them as current stock issue.

Do you have different nibs for each of your pens?

Thks

No it started life as a Sea Garden in poor condition which I refinished in Ivory Humbrol Enamel. I will post the procedure tonight or not as I believe my ISP has ceased their free web hosting site. Must look at another way.

Most of my nibs are medium with the odd Fine and Broad. I have never purchased a new Carene from a dealer or high street shop, 99% have been auction and one was a NOS from early 2000.

Hey Force

You can upload the pics here to FPN and could put the whole project in the penmaking dept.
