Diamine Misty Blue

This a blue that is really growing on me. Not too light and with plenty of character.

I thoroughly recommend this ink.

Hi,

Thanks for posting the samples.

I've been using this one a fair bit since it was released. It is a subtle ink, so I quite agree that one could spend a bit more time finding a pen+paper combo to generate the desired appearance.

At this time I like Misty Blue from a Pelikan 400NN + slightly wet plump M nib on a modest white wove Conqueror 'letterhead' paper.

Interesting that you've included Diamine Presidential Blue in your comparison - that's one of the few Diamine Blue inks that I consider went just wide of the mark.

Hi There

I love the Presidential in a Pelikan M101N with a nice wide F nib and almost any paper. The Misty resides permanently in an M600, again with a wide F. Slightly different and both appreciated!

The Diamine Mr. Pen "Radiant Blue" looks very nice... :puddle:

Good Captain, would you say the Radiant Blue differs enough from the Royal Blue to justify buying it? I'm sorely tempted. I wonder what the mix could be?

This Misty Blue scan looks eerily similar to how Tsuki-yo looks coming out of my pens...anyone else see it, or am I just seeing a cheaper alternative to PT-y?

Like the TGC Misty Blue has, for the reason already mentioned, made a big impression; and I am holding MB responsible for resurrecting a lapsed interest in 'Blue Inks'.... I have since added Diamine's Eau de Nil, Royal, Washable, Kensington and Majestic to the blue stash which hitherto was limited to Visconti, R&K Konigsblau/Salix/Verdigris, Diamine's Prussian Blue.

I should mention MB resides in a Blue Stripe M800 with a broad stub nib.....a great match up.

Here's a small comparison.

Initially I didn't think there was much difference but when I actually had this piece of paper in good daylight and full sunlight from the window (my 'office' has rather subdued-to-dismal illumination!) the Radiant was noticeably more vivid and vibrant. However, if the two weren't side by side, I would be hard-pushed to actually be able to identify one from the other.

I reckon it was worth the purchase. It's surprisingly water-resistant too! I wrote the second piece of paper (below) at the same time as the one above and then couldn't believe that I'w not got the inks in the same order!

See what I mean?

Thanks for your reply. Although they are very similar I too did actually think that the Radiant Blue was the more vibrant ink from your scans. It is certainly more water resistant too.
