Noodler's Red

This is Noodler's Red, a very "red" red that dries darker than it goes on and looks gorgeous (though not on copy paper).

Definitely an ink to have in your stable.

You're right, it IS a very red red. A very thorough review, also. Very informative. I can see I need to start paying more attention to good paper. Now, if only I could get my Ahab to do what yer flex does.

What a fantastic red! If only there was a bulletproof version of this. Very nice review. Thanks!

Wow, I would love to see this next to Diamine's Red Dragon. Thank you for another fabulous review of a truly stunning red!

Very nice review of a very nice looking ink. I am now thinking about getting some. The Noodler's inks with boring names seem to be fairly underappreciated on the whole.

And many thanks for adding commentary about hairlines. It may not always be 100% applicable to everyone, but for those of us who use very fine nibs, it is nice to know if an ink will cooperate and produce nice results.

Thanks for a great review! I have also been experimenting with Noodler's "Standard" inks and the plainly-named inks (one in the same?) and find them very interesting. Great job!

Fox Red has great water resistance! Nice color too. My first bottle was super feathery until heavily diluted, about to try a sample of that ink from another vendor today. Fox Red is not entirely Eternal: there appears to be noticeable fading when exposed to light: the writing taped to a wall at the end of February is now more orange and slightly lighter than the control sample writing in a closed notebook.

I recently compared Diamine Red Dragon to Sheaffer Skrip Red and my preference would be the latter.

I recently made the same comparison and my preference was Red Dragon.

Oh well, am pleased we live in a constitutional republic which allows for subjectivity.

I was not pleased at Fox Red being about six times the price of a Diamine ink, but then again Diamine must do twenty red inks that run at the sight of water, and Red Fox is the reddest permanent ink I've seen. I'm impressed enough to consider trying Hunter Green in case it's an improvement over the watery Green Marine.

I haven't tried Fox Red, but you might want to have a look at Noodler's Park Red -- it's a titch pink to be what I call a "true" red (like Diamine Classic Red) but it's pretty waterproof in my experience.  Skrip Red is too blood-red a red for me; I don't like the brownish undertone.
