This is a great colour so if it comes to Britain, I'll have a go!

Thanks for the review. Certainly looks like it feathers. Looks similar in color to Noodler's Purple Heart which I love; its behavior is excellent for me. Do you have PH, and if so, how does it compare to Purple Wampum?

Thank you for another great review. This reminds me of Diamine Grape which appears (in my expereince) to behave very well in comparison to your experience of Wampum.

Purple Wampum isn't the best behaved ink out there, but it is much more friendly in dryer pens. A bit of a bummer, since it's a wonderful color, but pen choice can greatly improve the situation.

Purple Heart isn't quite the same color, but similar, and is much better behaved. If I ever make it through my bottle of Purple Wampum it'll be replaced with Purple Heart.

It seemed to have less feathering when you diluted it. Did you find that to be the case? I'll admit, it's not too my taste colorwise -- I much prefer brighter purples like North African Violet, plus this appears to have a sort of brownish undertone (at least on my screen).

Thanks for the review, though: it helps to see what other peoples' experience of different inks are (and everyone's color taste is different -- I've seen people rave about colors I personally thought were completely atrocious, and if I hadn't tried a sample of Herbin's Rouge Hematite I would never have guessed I would have like an ink that color).

Right off the bat, it remnds me of D's Eclipse. At least many company's "Aubergine". Nevertheless, it does seem to feather unbearably -- which I could accept -- but the other properties let me down too.

This is one of my all time favorite inks, even though it can feather a bit when used with certain pen and paper combos. Don't give up on it yet.

I strongly support the suggestion to try a dryer pen. I have it in a Higgins Pengraphic with an Osmiroid Ital F Straight nib and haven't had any trouble with feathering. It is a great color if you like your colors slightly grayed (as I do) but it is the grayest of the Noodler's violets/purples (Nightshade is the brownest) so do go for one of the others if you want a "clean" purple or violet.

I love purple wampum in a dry fine pen, my Pilot 78G F is permanently inked with wampum and it's v nice in my new Vanishing point EF also. It has some water resistance and is a nice work ink, dark and professional but not boring black.

Reminds me of Poussière de Lune suffering clinical depression. Excellent review though, as always
