Moonlight Sisters

Hi all,

Now I have two pens which are all about "Moonlight Raden" - the Namiki Yukari Nightline and the Pelikan Moonlight LE, the Pelikan being the newer one -, so I made some pictures of them together. Hope you'll enjoy them.

I love the look of raden, but not the price. I understand that the price reflects the labour which goes into (good) raden work, I just can't justify the expense (well at least not while I'm buying more than one or two pens per year).

Beautiful pens! Thanks for sharing!

I'm not in favor of natural selection. I'm just saying: Let's remove the warning lables and see what happens.

Wow, that pair of pens is stunning! I really like how the background is black and the raden sparkles in the darkness... like moonlight!

I have that raden Pelikan set and love it! Now you've made me wish that I had the Yukari to go with them! These are indeed beautiful pens representing exquisite craftsmanship--I wish you many years of enjoying these beautiful pens in good health!

Thanks!

Yes, Raden work is expensive - as is all that exquisite Japanese art - but beautiful.

@dannyboy: The Pelikan on the pictures is the M1000 Moonlight.

I'd love to have a raden pen again sometime. I had a VP Raden, but it didn't feel right in my hand, and the raden work isn't up to the standards of these, of course.

Silvermink: I have a VP Raden too, I love it though the clip positioning is not for everybody and feels awkward sometimes. Maybe I'll do a family portrait some day with those two, the VP and the Yukari Sakura.

Saskia: Will do so gladly! Since neither light nor inspiration were with me today, all I can offer is an older picture of the Yukari Nightline, but it shows the nib also:

It's a very smooth, firm fine nib (Japanese medium).

A somewhat belated reply: Rumyana, that's really hard to say. There is more blue than green but it's a greenish blue. ;) There's some pink and purple too. The Yukari definitely is the more feminine of the two, it's so slender and beautifully shaped with an elegant clip but it still has a nice weight to it.
