Waterman Goutte Fountain Pen

I have a Waterman Goutte that I was cleaning and noticed the feed turned in the section. So I pulled on the nib and feed and with no effort at all it separated. Are these glued into the section? I see no stop measures in the section for the feed to stop moving or to stay in place.

Thank you for your help!

I would have thought that the nib/feed would be the usual friction fit into the section. Have you carefully inspected the section under magnification for a lengthwise crack?

No cracks at all, nothing unusual. I did not put this under any heat at all. Also did not soak it in water, so I see no reason for shrinkage. Just strange!

I have a Waterman Goutte circa 1978 with the same nib shell/section issue of the shell deteriorating.

Have you resolved this issue or found a source for a shell section. Thanks
