Parker Duofold Centennial Nib Code

I have a Parker Duofold Centennial with a code number 94 on the back of the nib. Is there a guide that will identify what this means please?

 

I bought it from the factory at Newhaven about 18 years ago.

Medium Italic for the nib you have. (I've got one, too. It's a great nib.) I'm sure someone will point you at the complete list.

I wasn't sure what grade of italic it is. Good to know it's the medium. And yes, it does create very nice script on paper

 

I'm tempted now to get a second nib, perhaps and extra broad to complement it. Or perhaps just get a whole new pen with such a nib. I just bought a different brand pen with a medium nib last week, and also own a Parker 75 with a fine nib, so I'm missing a broad one.

The ease of swapping nibs makes it a good idea, and I'm considering it too.

Thanks Fred The list is slightly incorrect though, as my nib is 18K, not the 14K listed.

 

I agree about the arrow nibs. I hadn't realised they had changed to the Ace/Heart design until I saw some pens last month. I was suprised that they changed the arrow design, which symbolises Parker, to this new shape :hmm1:

Just an FYI..Arrow nib design from introduction of Modern Duofold 1988 to 1996

with design change to Banner nib..then in 2005 Ace nib..

I like the arrowhead motif

Then the

banner design.

They both look great.

Somehow the Ace motif doesn't look aesthetically pleasing.

 

And like others , my experience with duofold nibs have been very positive.

I was impressed by how well the ink flows and equally impressed with how the nibs write.

Excellent design.

And disassembly of the nib and feed for thorough cleaning is pretty do-able.

Just be warned. I bought my International last year and had the M nib swapped to a #95 (Broad Italic) under the nib swap scheme, and the only one available was the last #95 nib they had - a banner nib. The Ace of spades #95 had been discontinued, Parker had run out of them and were using up the old stock.

Thanks. You may think it odd but I wouldn't want the Ace design anyway, as I have the old arrow nib and prefer it. I've decided to leave it as it is, and just buy another pen with a broad italic nib instead
