Murano Glass Dip Pen

Sorry for the terrible cell phone pic but I was too lazy to get outside and get better light.

My good friend (and fellow FPN member) went on vacation to Italy and surprised me with this in the mail today. It is beautiful. I've been reading old posts on here and am anxious to try my hand with dip pens now.

I also received bottle # 7 of Tyler's Blue Black ink (Manganate V). Great looking bottle and I'm glad to help out a new company.

Anyway, just wanted to share my good fortune today. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Are we supposed to call it Organ Ink? I'm a bit confused.

My package of ink wasn't delivered today, but that's no huge blow since it's going to work and I'm not there to collect it.

That's a really nice dip pen. I should look into one of those before my next pen club meeting. (any old type, not this obviously fancy and special one)

I haven't figured that out yet, either. Maybe someone can enlighten both of us...I didn't get around to trying it out yet. Maybe I'll ink up a pen now and see how it does.

Nice! I like the fact that the glass dip pen takes steel dip nibs since I think those are nicer to write with than glass nibs.

BTW, sometimes new-old-stock dip nibs have a protective coating you need to wipe off before you can write with them properly. If your ink is blobbing when you start writing that is probably the case.

I've got this in the FPN Classifieds: Dip Pen Set
