Straight Cursive

I wanted to extend the already existing threads on improving handwriting, but thinking the OPs would feel it like me encroaching, I decided to create a new one.

So the aim is straight cursive; I have been trying a lot by writing any random stuff, pages after pages and reached here so far.

Although I've got a few mid-range Parkers, I wrote this with the cheap Maped Fountain which I received today and costs barely $2 (converting Rs.). Its fine nib is totally adorable and all too fun to write.

The sample is text from a letter by Alan Turing (today being his 100th birthday). The text: Yours in distress, Alan

Attached is a good sized version whose orientation I couldn't figure out despite rotating the thing.

I like straight cursive too. I find that I have much more control over my writing. I tried to use a slant first, but found my handwriting to be bad. I tried straight cursive and found that there was a big improvement. Only now, am I starting to venture back in the slant territory.
