Noodler's North African Violet

Here's my new favorite basic purple. It overtakes my old favorite, Purple Martin. Please note that the Purple Martin sample is a bit more red-saturated in real life than in the scan.

Also to note is that this is a staining ink, at least with Noodler's demonstrators. But I highly recommend it!

This is absolutely my favorite color ink. I agree that it seemed to stain my Flex Piston (King Philip Purple Demonstrator) a fair amount, but the color is still absolutely amazing. It's smack in the middle of the purple part of the spectrum, IMO -- neither leaning toward red violet or blue violet.

I haven't noticed the dry times being as long as what you've experienced, but it does dry slower than Private Reserve Purple Mojo (which is also a nice color, but a softer purple than NAV, which is pretty "in your face").

Ruth, a 1 part bleach to 10 parts water solution will help clean your pen out. I gave bottles of this to my nieces, the college age young lady was fine but the middle school girl dropped and broke the bottle :headsmack:

If you add 1 part Heart of Darkness to 7 or 8 parts NAV you will have Black Swan in North African Violets, the best purple shading ink I've ever encountered. And yes, it will still stain most pens. So what? It's worth it.
