Noodler's Navajo Turquoise

Here's my review of Noodler's Navajo Turquoise. I used the Serwex 77TR as a dip pen to write the review because I was nearly out and couldn't get the Flex to suck up any ink. I love this ink and it's definitely going to be a permanent part of my lineup from now on.

Shading with the Flex pen is a lot better when it's actually loaded into the pen and not being dipped. If I can find any previous examples I'll scan and add them.

Will definitely have to pick up some of this! I'm drawn to turquoise inks much more than I used to be.

How does Navajo Turquoise compare to Noodler's Eel Turquoise?

Noodler's Navajo Turquoise is a surprisingly great ink, especially in a pen with a flexible nib. I bought it to be the "cyan" for mixing, but ended up using the ink for everything but mixing.

This ink is a knockout! It's well behaved and screams turquoise. It has the perfect blue color of a south western blue sky, the kind that just goes on forever...

Thanks for your review. My bottle has exactly the same colour spectrum as yours in which I had doubts on whether my bottle was a defective one. Maybe the wetter the nib, the darker the colour. This ink is a great shader!

I agree on the shading, as long as it's smooth paper like Rhodia or Clairefontaine. It's also awesome in my Leuchtturm1917 journal. I really prefer the darker blue shade that comes out with wetter writing. I'm not as much into the lighter turquoise part of the shading, which is the only color you get on absorbent papers, even Staples bagasse.

 

People love receiving letters or cards from me in this ink. It's very vivid on paper, and people are instantly attracted.

 

mhphoto, your review is one of the main reasons I originally bought this ink. So, thank you for the great work you put into it! (And all of your reviews!)

 

I will mention that I would like to find a similar ink that leans a little bit more toward sky blue (less green). I've wondered if Diamine Mediterranean, Diamine Florida Blue, or Noodler's Ottoman Azure might do the job. But I don't want to lose the shading.

 

Any opinions or experience in this regard?
