Phileas Colours

Having just acquired an Indus Grey I thought a picture showing the differences in the marbled finishes.

The Indus Grey is from the earlier marble models, reproducing the colour/finish of the inner cover pages of old books. It is a very much mottled marble compared to the more continuous lines of the later Blue and Red Marbles. Take note of the very same pattern on the Blue and Red.

Given that the blue and red patterns are identical, that suggests they are printed on, rather than being inherent to the material itself? How pointless!

And there was I thinking I had fortunately purchased the Blue Marble pen which appears in the 2001 catalogue perhaps making it very valuable
