Waterman Le Man 200

So I'm considering purchasing a waterman 200... but Im having some doubts because the majority of the articles and posts im finding on here are classified ads - aka people trying to sell theirs.... Is there something wrong with the series that makes people want to sell it instead of reviewing it and having a glowing recommendation?

Anyone have any ideas?? Granted i haven't found BAD reviews either, but most of the pens i research have at least a few fans who have written a dedicated review or two..... I've searched for 2 hours for one, and have yet to find one...

The Man 200 was somewhat akin to the modern Parker Duofold International, a slightly smaller version of the flagship pen. It, like the International, was built to the same standards as the flagship but was aimed more towards the women as buyer or user.

There are likely reviews of some (Night and Day comes to mind ) that I think were only made in the 200 line but not labeled as such.

There are people selling a pen because it is a bad pen.

There are people selling a pen because they have several of them

There are people selling a pen to raie funds for another special pen

There are people selling a pen because they got it from daddy and don't know what to do with it

There are people buying and selling pens for a living.....

Not all bad.

If a pen is not going to raise enough money to cover the postage, many people won't bother and just toss the thing in the bin.

If you are lokking at a particular pen and have doubts you can always ask here on the forum what people think of that particular offer. Ofcourse if it is a very good offer you might raise some contenders...

Well I actually went ahead an purchased it, I was just hoping for reviews on the functionality, quality, design, etc...... But I bought it because it was the first 'flashy' (aka non mont-blanc style black) pen that I actually liked. In fact im quite smitten with its art-deco-ish appearance. You can see it here, attatched. I got it from the classifieds from a very nice guy. All the others are still for sale, but mine is the green and black swirl towards the right side.

Well, it can only be 1 of 3

Blue and gold Carene, what else.... Enjoy it.

This blue seems lighter than on my blue and silver.. Or is that another FrankenCarene??

We have the gold plated night and day. It's a lovely smooth wet writer. I enjoy the weight in my hand as well as how nicely it writes. It's a very elegant looking pen in the night/day version. No criticisms at all. I particularly find the nib very pleasing in how simple it's engraved. It's a pen made for use.

"how do I know what I think until I write it down?"

It's funny, I actually got mine because it looks nothing like the rest of my pens... I have no idea why I like how crazy it looks... i've never liked multi-colored types of pens before.... oh well, i guess im glad :) some variety to the collection!
