Vintage Waterman Bp Refills

I'm getting rather fed up with vintage Waterman BP pens.

Had a beautiful gold plated one c.1970s which only took the Flair Titane refills ( I still have 5 Black ones left )and now can only be used with the extortionately priced Cartier refills -£9 each!

Can anyone help me identify this particular refill:

"The refill is marked - Waterman B 24.5. It is 73mm long and has a diameter of 3.2mm. There is a collar 50mm from the ball end."

Thing is I love writing with them.

Many thanks

Thanks for your response.

I have emailed the person and I'm hoping they will either post the pics here themselves or send them me to post myself.

It looks like another obscure discontinued refill to me!

Total guess here, but I know that Schmidt makes a number of refills in unique sizes and shapes. Perhaps one of those might work for you?

I suspect Schmidt or Schneider make the Cartier refills, but for some reason they can't be sold unbranded. Tis also strange the Titanes were gold coloured and the Cartier are chrome.

Further research on the net has brought up a solution certainly for the Titane but you still need the original refill. Whether this method will work for other discontinued refills remains to be seen. Another person I know owns a Sheaffer Tuckaway BP and has the same problem.

Many thanks to Mr John Culmer for coming up with his ingenious idea.Fantastic.

Parker D1 (mini) ballpoint refill will also work.

Fell in love with a Goutte BP and had to have it. I think the maxima or equivalent should fit that.Fingers crossed.

Here is a picture of my lovely BP that was the cause of my woes and extensive research.

Ended up contacting Newell Rubbermaid who offered to exchange it for a modern BP ( it was good of them to offer and the customer service was excellent)but they wanted to retain my pen. I did tell them I would prefer them to adapt it, but they couldn't. How I wish I had seen Mr Culmer's stock beforehand.

The BP I have now is lovely, but I bitterly regret my decision as I miss my BP dreadfully. The Oldies are definitely the best.

Perhaps I will save up and purchase the set from vintagewatermanpens if it's still available.
