Waterman Allure Or Kultur?

Hey guys i go to buy another Waterman fp.

I have 1 Allure (with broken nib). And i need a good Waterman FP for school so i have 2 choises: or i go to buy a new nib (21 euros the same price as the pen self) or I go to buy a Waterman Kultur? Wich one is the best idea? Is the kultur better?

- : The Waterman Kultur is made out of plastic - : The Waterman Allure is scratchy and stiff (F nib)

+ : The Wterman Kultur is the Waterman Phileas + : The Waterman Alllure is made out of metal

Is the Kultur smoother? (M nib)

There are very few discussions on either of those models on FPN so from the Waterman stable I would recommend, Phileas, Laureat, Centurion, Executive, Exclusive, Preface or Hemisphere. All bar the Hemi are no longer in production but can be found fairly cheaply on the famous auction site. All are CC pens so you can fill them how you like.

All of those pens are too expensive...

Is the Waterman Kultur good? Cause its the demonstrator fo the phileas (so the same nib so same performance).

I have just purchased 2 Phileas, one for £5 the other £11 and £10.5 for a Centurion... Expensive, I don't think so.

I bought a Kultur a while ago just to see what it was like. Although I didn't expect much for such a cheap pen, I was disappointed; because it's made entirely of plastic, it feels quite insubstantial (too light) when writing, and also doesn't give me the impression that it'll have any longevity if used as an everyday pen.

I'll concur with Force and say that you should buy a Phileas. They're heavier and feel like a much better quality pen than the Kultur, which, for all intents and purposes, I would treat almost as being a disposable FP.

And the Waterman Allure ? Should i repair it ( place a M nib to make it less scratchy and wetter)

I like my Allure VERY much will it be wetter with a m nib? (maybe gold plated)

Here are some photos of it :

Well, from the way it seems the nib is bent, I doubt you'll be able to fix it satisfactorily by trying to bend it back into place. However, you should be able to get a new nib section for a relatively low price online. As for getting a Medium nib; I tend to find the Medium nibs by Waterman to be generally smoother than the fine nibs.

no more centurions on ebay.com

Incorrect. Many pen sellers don't know the name or in some cases the correct name for a pen. That's all I am saying otherwise I will not catch as many fish.

I bought a lovely 'Hemisphere' BP last year which strangely turned out to be a Silver Meridien Carene  I did ask the seller if the picture was of the pen being sold which they confirmed before I placed my 5 second bid. £30....

One really nice aspect about the Kultur is that you can make it into an eyedropper pen really easily. Just rinse out the barrel, dry it out and put a small amount of silicone grease on the threads. Then fill the entire barrel with ink and it will look cool and work for a very long time before you need to refill it. You can't do this with the Phileas because of the metal in the pen, which doesn't play well with ink.

Maybe but the nib looks non Centurion...too expensive for this model. In fact from its shape, engraving and length it looks very Man 200 or Gentleman as here 10 and 5 to...

Avoid the Kulturs, the cap is designed so poorly that the junction where the clip meets the cap is exposed by a hole, causing the nib to air dry rather quickly. I repeat again, avoid the Kultur at all cost. That pen is not worth buying period.

There are some fairly simple solutions to this problem. See the following thread.
