Real Or Fake? Parker Sonnet

Well I happen to have a parker sonnet, which appears to have gold plated trim and a solid gold nib, as usual the nib has an iridium or some other metal point since gold is soft. The pen is red with black stripes, I have heard somewhere that Parker had a few Sonnets back in the 90's with special designs. Is this true? What I really want to know if the pen is genuine, it feels like it!
