Lamy Safari Fp Aquamarine Color Variation

I'm wondering if this is another Lamy inconsistency in production. Recently, I ordered a new Lamy Safari FP in the Aquamarine Limited Edition color. The aquamarine hue differs quite noticeably from other photos of this pen. My pen has more of a greenish hue, leaning towards teal. Here are photos of it:

Here is a JetPens photo of it (which I believe takes its own photos of the products it sells):

Now, I understand there could be slight differences in color due to photo lighting sources and intensity, monitor variation, individual perception, etc. My monitor's color reproduction I would say is fairly accurate, since the color displayed of my pen on the photo I took is close to its actual color just by observation through the naked eye. The greenish hue is also noticeable when holding the pen in natural light, yellow light (i.e., conventional light bulb), and bright fluorescent light.

So what I thought I'd do was take a look in Google Images (search="lamy safari aquamarine") to see photos of this pen taken by others (Lamy stock photos are not always reliable). I think the color of the pen as photographed on Goulet Pens closely resembles mine:

However, observe these photos:

From the kmpn blog (more photos on the link):

Observe on the tag the number VT 24057. My pen is also EF but had the number VT 23827 on the tag; the Fine variant as sold on Amazon Japan has VT 23782. Different production run?

From Raukten:

Another from Rakuten:

You can find lots more on Google Images from reviews and shops selling them that took their own photos.

Looking through color swatches of aquamarine color on Google Images, I've noticed my pen resembles this one the closest (image too large to display). Plenty of photos tend to show the color bordering on this version or this one. Something weird is going on here I think.

For those who already own the pen in the Aquamarine color, is your aquamarine version leaning towards teal or a brighter blue (e.g., cyan)?

Let's not forget that in the past, Lamy played around with the yellow version of the Safari FP...

It's just my personal taste, but the one you received is more beautiful than the one from the catalog.

No inconsistency in production, just in photography. Your photo looks like it is in real life, as do those from Rakuten.

IMO the Lamy catalogue photo is inaccurate. Here's another shot, which make the colour look more like yours:

Can't comment on the product codes as they are in a different format to those used here.

BTW, those yellow Safaris are essentially 3 different models, not different runs of the same version.

Err, that just looks like an oversized Papermate disposable pen to me, no thanks.

Sorry for the bump, but I am planning to buy an Aquamarine Safari shortly, and seeing this thread turned me off a little bit

Does everyone elses' Aquamarine Safari look like this too?

When I saw the acquamarine color, I did not like it by some subliminal associations (I was not able to put my finger on it until your post). Now I realized that is because of the papermade color.

Yup, that's the colour of mine - and yes, now you come to mention it it does look like a papermate ballpoint!

I don't mind that, I bought it because I didn't want boring black (sorry fans of black!) thought the white looked a little "tacky" (having danced my way through the 80's in my white stilletos...!)and there was no way under the sun I was buying a Barbie pink number - aqua was the only other colour in the shop.

Tbh and imo the safari does look a little cheap and plasticy just like the papermate but that's because it is an inexpenisve pen where - I suspect - most of the money has gone on the nib. That's fine: it writes well and I'm happy to carry it about with me and if I lose it it won't break my heart as would be the case with my '51.

I don't think it resembles the Papermate at all (and I went through plenty of those in a previous life).

I do agree that it is difficult to capture the colour well in a photo, and the other Aquamarine safaris I've seen in real life are pretty much the same colour. The variation comes from photography and monitor differences.

I don't think mine has a green cast, at least not of the unpleasant Papermate variety.
