Nice review! Wow, with a wet pen you've got some lovely shading from that ink. Pretty decent color too.

It'd be nice if the color was constantly like the 2nd swab pass, and shaded to the 3rd swab pass. The lightest shade is to "unsaturated" looking for me...

Need a pen repaired or a nib re-ground? I'd love to help you out.

I find that it looses all its yellow and greenish tones as it ages, turning an almost blackish-brown.

Fortunately the things I have written on Rhodia in the past week or two have kept their tones so far. The scan came out a little yellower than I am seeing on paper.

777 - there is no prohibition against mixing with Diamine colours, so a dot of black might firm up this colour for you. It is a light colour when on the paper and with a drier pen would show more of the thin colour and less shading.

Heh, the "other" Golden Brown had some comments along these lines too. Fortunately it is an ink which comes out of a bottle, not a baby.

Scanner : IT8-calibrated Epson V600 flatbed

Colour Space : Adobe RGB

Matte : 50% grey and 100% white

I think we will all agree that these are much better scans than the originals I had posted. I now have better equipment to redo all the Diamine Ink Reviews that I have posted.

Dan,

Thanks for your great review. Diamine Golden Brown ink is one of my favorite inks with flexible nibs. Here are a couple of writing samples using that ink and vintage flexible nibs ...

From the scans in the first post it looks a lot like my Noodler's Eternal Brown. It does look very nice with good shading.

Thanks for this great review. Pelikan's Edelstein Amber referred it to me. Yes, the Diamine Golden Brown's shading is awesome!
