Anybody got any idea what it is?

Patience is a virtue when waiting for the right pen... although I do just always seem to miss them

Whatever it is, I reckon Jeeves would disapprove...

Well of course he would - it's not a fountain pen! A gentleman always conducts his correspondence with a fountain pen equipped with a sober ink on restrained stationery bearing only his embossed name and address. I would imagine...

Didn't the unspeakable "God's Daisy chains" woman use some violent shade of notepaper that Jeeves (and Bertie) objected to?

(Edited to add the missing t to stationery.)

Well, I believe "God's daisy chain" said something about every time a wee fairy blows its nose, ballpoint makers find another lode of ballpoint ink....

I'll agree with the Zebra F-301 ball point or gel pen (same body, different refill). They use them on CSI: Miami as well.

Whatever it is, I reckon Jeeves would disapprove.

And Jeeves would most certainly disapprove. But when it comes to House, there are so many things of which Jeeves would disapprove. Perhaps the fact he's writing by hand and not on a computer would mollify Jeeves on this one.

House uses whatever pen the person he's talking to uses. Without asking.

And often without returning it.

looks like some ball point but can't say for sure

Don't know what pen House uses, but I always thought Hugh Laurie looked a bit like Koko The Clown from the old Max Fleischer "Out Of The Inkwell" cartoons.
